Golden Star Exploding
Auuuughh, Starbucks just punched me in the gut!! I've been getting soy milk in my drinks most days I come in, but today I was brave and got regular milk and now... I'm going to have to go to work in pain. Lovely. Those darn kids had better behave, or face my cranky wrath.

Also, I drewed some pictures again! How about that.

Hey [info]the_reverand!!! I drew this one for you! :) Okay, so maybe it's a little bit for me too, but mostly for you, I swear.

Charlie Prince from 3:10 to Yuma. He ended up being my favorite character. The rare competent henchman. *starry eyes*

And here is my man, who I think I'm going to have to name "Mr. Exploding Starhead" or something. This is the second time I've drawn him. The best was when [info]its_a_nono took a peek at it and said, "I love how you tend to draw people getting struck by lightning in the face."

If I ever decided to be one of those people who posts quotes about them in their userinfo, I'd post that one.

Have a nice day,
~Jo

Your drawings always make me happy--even though I haven't seen 3:10 to Yuma (I'm a serious wimp when it comes to on-screen violence...), I love your Competent Henchman! And StruckByLightning!man is wonderful! I do think you *should* put that in your userinfo, actually.

*hugs*

(I really need to get icons of some of your other art... *grin*)

And I'd be happy to attempt iconage for you! Have any favorites that you would like icons of? *hug*

The exploding head guy reminds me of Xorn from Grant Morrison's run of X-Men, who has a star in his brain.

Whoa. I need to read more about this Xorn guy. The concept alone is VERY intriguing. Maaaan, I so need to get back into x-men. I miss it.

Ahhhh, I love the Charlie Prince drawing! *starry-eyed* He ending up being my favorite character as well. I like when the second-in-commands are badass and competent and pretty. :D And...hee, Mr. Exploding Starhead! The name makes it even more fantastic.

That's right, Charlie's got it all. :) I love villians, and I love it more when they die in some sort of tragedy of love. *le sigh* Glad you liked the drawings!

OMGCHARLIEPRINCEISSOAWESOME!^___^ He looks so sinister and lovely. And his jacket!! And his moustache. :D You and Charlie are too awesome for words. ^ ^

May I post a link? PLEASE?

Also, exploding head dude is awesome, and I'm pretty sure I looked just like that a couple of times this week. He also reminds me of The Fountain, all floating in space-like. Hee.

*clings to your leg in general and specific glee*

Yes darling, you may link all you like! :D I'm glad you like Charlie and his lovely Charlie jacket, and his lovely Charlie moustache. Hee.

Would you like the original too? I could mail it to you. <3

Yeah, and Mr. Exploding Starhead is sort of an all-encompassing portrait of the over-stressed populous. I'm not surprised your'e reminded of The Fountain, as that movie is all about stars exploding. I'm happy to see you identify with him. *HUG*

Would I? "Like" is such a mild term. Would I die from ecstasy to have the original? YES, possibly! You are so lovely to me. *sappy smile*

I am not identifying with exploding head man so much today! I was back to singing while doing horsey things this evening, rather than merely fretting. Such a relief! But then again your Charlie made me sort of head-explodey, so perhaps I can relate even today. :D

HOLY LOVING CRAP, WHAT GORGEOUS ICONS!! D: *grabs them* I'm so flattered, and also amazed you could make something so pretty from my art! I'm garbage at icons, really.

Hooray, and I'm so glad you're not freaking out as bad over horsey things. I'm still so glad to hear that things are looking up.

Ah, and I do need to take a trip to the post-office anyway. I owe people mail. The original drawing of this isn't quite centered, and runs off the page a little because I'm irresponsible like that... but I'm happy to send it to you regardless. <3

Super cool!!

The comment about "I love how you tend to draw people getting struck by lightning in the face." Made me think of deaths due to Ball Lightning.. Crazy stuff.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_lightning
A famous anecdote from 1753 depicts ball lightning as having violent potential. Professor Georg Richmann, of Saint Petersburg, Russia created a kite flying apparatus similar to that built by Benjamin Franklin a year earlier. He was attending a meeting of the Academy of Sciences, when he heard thunder. The Professor ran home with his engraver to capture the event for posterity. While the experiment was underway, ball lightning appeared, collided with Richmann's forehead and killed him, leaving a red spot. His shoes were blown open, parts of his clothes singed, the engraver knocked out; the doorframe of the room was split, and the door itself torn off its hinges

I found some more even scarier links... Ball lightning is pretty bizarre.

HAHA, your quote made me laugh. I didn't think I was that morbid. I just read the quote and it reminded me because I always thought that was one of the craziest ways to go. Definitely not something you expect to happen when you wake up in the morning. "Well, I hope I don't get struck by ball lightning today!"
After reading more accounts, it makes me want to write a story in the vein of those old black and white serials about an assassin that uses ball lightning. Kinda "Crimson Ghost" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038435/ meets Dr. Phibes http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066740/ and the story would have to contain "Mr. Exploding Starhead" as a victim.
I still want to you to publish a sketchbook. I love the sketches in your live journal. Maybe you could do a low print run and sell it from you site. It would be full of awesomeness!

You know, I forgot to mention this, but my tummy is very sensitive to the milkfat in milk, so if I drink whole milk I feel like death warmed over for a little while. But if I stick with 2% or 1%, I feel pretty peachy.

Not to say that's what your deal is about. Just mentioning in case the info is of use. :)

I've tried that! In fact, I specifically had the latte made with nonfat milk for just that reason. It's sorta random, some days it hurts and some days it doesn't. Kind of a gamble, but I was feeling cheap and didn't want to pay extra for soy milk.

I haven't quite quit dairy entirely... but I don't have it a lot, and I make sure to never have dairy for two meals in a row, as that is where I start to run into problems. I don't think I'm quite lactose intolerant, but I'm definitely very sensitive to it.
